Why In-Person Retreats matter more than ever in 2026
We are more connected than ever. And yet, so many of us have never felt more alone.
Remote work, social media, doom scrolling, virtual everything. Our screens are full of faces while our hearts are quietly starving for real contact. For a hand on our shoulder. For a gaze that says: I see you. You are not alone.
And with this collective social starvation we have to consciously remember ourselves: we are craving exactly what humans have always needed and what can’t be satuated with a false virtual sense of connection.
Each other.
Back to Our Roots
There is a reason ancient healing happened in circles, around fires, in ceremony together.
Our nervous systems were were built for co-regulation — for the felt safety of another human presence. Science confirms what our bodies have always known: being physically near others who are regulated and safe literally helps our own system settle. This is called neuroception, and no screen, no matter how high the resolution, can replicate it.
In 2026, when remote work often has replaced the office and social media has replaced the town square, choosing to come together in person is not just a nice-to-have. It is a sheer act of self-care, a return to something real.
Mirror neurons are the key.
We have literally a in-build embodied simulation system inside of us that’s designed to connect us deeply to other people and create empathy for social bonding. Which makes me absolutely convinced we are not individuals for living here separately. And therefore can double healing speed when in a tribal experience.
In many of my breathwork retreats I help you wire your brain new by detecting movements, facial expressions, emotional tone and body language. In others and also parts of yourself programmed by others.
Your brain then activates motor circuits & its mirror neuron system as IF you were doing it yourself.
Which creates (new) IMITATION
Why imitation is so important?
It mirrors a new establishment of healthy boundaries, soothing self-talk, gentle gestures, real expression and social behaviors rooted in integrity.
I’m a big fan of tribe healing. Somatic healing is inherently physical. The breath, the movement, the trembling, the release... these are body experiences. And the body heals fastest when it is witnessed, touched, and accompanied in real time.
This is why I will always come back to in-person work. Because I have seen, again and again, what becomes possible when people are hold space for each other.
We are neurobiologically structured to heal each other
I hear it all the time:
"I tried so many healing techniques, nothing really helps, I'm tiered to do it all alone"
But when offered a chance for connection:
„I'm shy, I'm ashamed, I can't share a room, I can't be loud infront of others"
Our wounds run deep, our ego-driven-society has hardened or overstimulated our delicate female system that no matter what technique comes your way — you cannot fully understand or implement it and the circle of unworthiness continues.
The last straw is not another technique, another therapy, but more so the energetic structure (like a web) in which those practices are applied and with how much moving awareness.
When the same vibrational beings come into one holy space — the power of healing multiples. This called tribal healing. It is ancient, it is imprinted in your neurobiological structure.
I had many years of excruciating loneliness, anxiety where to belong, depression and self-defeat. Until I fully understood it's not a partner, it's not a method it's about being with likeminded women in a ceremonial manner and truly find the safety in that web to even starting to open up.
Only then the healing process began to fully run like a medicine trough every part of my body and sucked anything that wasn't true out of me. It hurt and yet it freed me.
My work is deeply ceremonial, intertwined with scientific evidence and springs from an unshakable belief that safe energetic spaces can be created through a group of individuals (not by one only!)
That is not a technique or a method. That is humanity remembering itself.
People feel healing is possible, because they just watched the person next to them do it.
